Oh My Llama
Oh my, this sweet little llama will keep all your favourite hooks neat and tidy inside her colourful basket. The project is quick to make with cute results - practice some colourwork and have a go at designing your own repeat pattern for the basket too!
The instructions are written in US crochet terms, with step by step photos detailing how to make the pieces and finish the object. There are colour charts for two basket patterns (a 3 colour and a 4 colour options) and a blank chart to design your own. The body of a basket is made in Waistcoat stitch, with step by step stitch instructions included within the pattern - this is a very easy twist on single crochet which gives the knitted look with a firmer texture.
You’ll need to know how to:
・make a Magic Ring
・work in a round
・single crochet
・increase/decrease
・wastecoat stitch (aka center single crochet) - step-by-step photos included
・follow a color chart - step-by-step guide to swapping colours included
・chain stitch
・slip stitch
You will need:
A selection of 4-ply cotton yarns for the basket, e.g. Scheepjes Catona or Yarn and Colors Must Have
20gr of Drops Alpaca Boucle or similar loopy yarn
3.5mm hook
10mm black safety eyes
