Omnia socks
I wanted to create a sock design that made cozy and warm socks for Winter while being suitable for men and women and able to fit all adult sized feet. Omnia in Latin means “all” and this seemed a perfect name for what I wanted to achieve with this design. They are also inspired by the time we spent as a family a few years ago in the mountains in Switzerland at a hotel of the same name where we spent days hiking and evenings cozied up by the fire, keeping our feet warm (having eaten far too much cheese fondue!)
These socks are knit from the cuff down with a 1 x 1 ribbed cuff, a ribbed heel-flap and gusset and have a section of colourwork (which includes a few purl stitches on the leg and the ribbed stitches continue down the sock through the foot to create ribbing and therefore fit incredibly well on the feet. This pattern uses the magic loop circular needle method (but can be knit with dpns).
Foot circumference (with approx. 2.5cm / 1” negative ease).
19-21cm, 21.3-23cm, 23.5-25cm, 25-26cm, 26-27.5cm / 7.5”-8”, 8.5”-9”, 9.25”-9.8”, 10-10.25”, 10.25”-10.85”
Foot length is easily adjustable.
