Notes from the Designer:
The Omorose cardigan is a beginner friendly, top down yoke cardigan. It has a simple fit with slightly ballooned sleeves. Omorose uses very basic crochet stitches and only a small amount of decreasing. The name Omorose is an Egyptian name that means “beautiful.”
- Click here to watch a tutorial on how to work the ribbing in this pattern.
- Starting chain does not count as first stitch unless stated otherwise within the pattern.
- Pattern is worked from the top down with sleeves and trim added at the end.
- When joining in the round, join to first stitch with a slip stitch.
- Yoke increases are in a multiple of 8.
- Garment has 2-4” (5-10 cm) positive ease.
- For more length, add rows before starting trim. This will increase the amount of yardage needed.
- When using hand-dyed yarn, alternate 2-3 skeins every 1-2 rows.
- Work last stitch of each row of ribbed trim in both loops for a nice clean and even edge.
- Use a stitch marker to keep track of row numbers.
- Pattern is written in smallest size with additional sizes in parentheses as follows: XS (S, M, L, XL)(2X, 3X, 4X, 5X). Final stitch count for all sizes will be in parentheses at the end of each row/round. If only one stitch count is given, it is for all sizes.
