ONCE UPON (A TIME) SWEATER KNITTING PATTERN

Once upon a time, there was a beautiful sweater that told stories of spring and summer adventures. With grass, flowers, clouds, and sun. Perfect to bring with you into autumn and the darker season. The chart is knitted using the intarsia technique for best possible results. The front and back pieces are knitted separately, bottom-up, back and forth. Sewn together at the sides afterwards. The sleeves are knitted top-down. Feel free to use scrap yarn for small details. The sweater can be worn both ways. Pictured here in size M-L.

Recommended needles: 5 and 6 mm for ribbing, and 7 mm circular needles (40 and 80 cm), plus double-pointed needles. If using the Magic Loop method, DPNs are not needed. You’ll also need a needle for weaving in ends, scissors, and a measuring tape.

FIT
The ease is approximately +15–20 cm from bust measurement for a relaxed fit. Measure your bust (at the fullest point) — for example, if your bust is 89 cm, size XS-S will be the best fit (with 21 cm of ease). Can also be worn with a slimmer fit or slightly oversized — choose what works for you. On the model shown, the ease is approximately +30 cm. Choose your size based on your bust measurement or desired fit. Compare the measurements to a sweater you already own and like the fit of.
Note – correct sizing depends on achieving the specified gauge.
