One Too Many
After a night of wine tasting with my friends one of them clearly had one too many and was walking in zig-zags to the car as her husband tried to stabilize her course. Inspiration was also taken from a quilting pattern called “Drunkard’s Path”. A tonal or solid yarn is recommended here, so it doesn’t compete with the pattern. The cable pattern looks more complicated than it is; it can be accomplished without a cable needle.
The sample was worked on needle size 2.5 mm ( US size 1.5 ) in the magic loop method. It used about 290 yards of Knit Picks Stroll sock yarn in Butternut Squash. The pattern repeat is worked over 7 stitches. The sample fits a woman’s size small. The pattern can be adjusted by varying needle size and yarn or changing the number of pattern repeats.
Skills required: knowledge of basic sock construction. Working in the round, decreasing, simple cable work, Kitchener stitch.
