Painted Zebras Mittens
When I originally designed these mittens it was specifically for a theme of black and white. Now the world is your oyster – paint those zebras whatever colors you like!
The fabric produced is springy from the cables, almost double thickness from the floats and dense because of the slipped stitches giving a tight row gauge, which is great for good woolly winter mittens!
The mittens are both fully charted and has full written instructions split for all sizes for ease of use and printing.
Chunky/bulky weight MC: 70-80-95 yds/64-73-87 m
Chunky/bulky weight CC: 45-55-65 yds/41-50-60 ms
The mitten sizes are slightly larger than standard because of the thickness of the fabric:
S: 7.75”/19.5 cm - M: 8.5”/21.5 cm - L: 9.5”/24 cm
Gauge: 19 sts/36 rows in mosaic cable pattern.
To be honest, you are not going to swatch mittens. As a guide you want a yarn that will give around 14-15 sts and 19-20 rows per 4”/10 cm over stocking stitch on 6 mm needles.
