My nan had two major influences in my life. Firstly, she loved scrabble and passed that love on to me. Secondly, she taught me to knit. Since I have “retired” I now have a lot more time for both.

In my past life I was a computer programmer, and the skills from that are very transferable to pattern writing. Both involve writing well documented “code” in a logical manner that when “run” give the same result within the bounds of the input variables (yarn chosen/gauge). I started designing as I couldn’t find the patterns that were in my head. I design things that I like, that are interesting to make and I hope other people like them too. I have my own group for anyone who is interested in testing or just knitting my designs here.
