Pansy Delight Tea Cozy
This is the perfect project for using up stash yarn. Each pansy uses about 20 yards
of fingering weight yarn. As shown there are five different colors of pansies,
but you can make them in more or less colors. The “stems” and leaves of the bouquet
are shown using only one shade of green. Feel free to use more than one green.
The tea cozy looks lovely with multiple greens. The size is easily adjustable by working taller and/or more or less stems.
The leaves are worked in the round and, therefore, double sided which means they can orient themselves any which way after they are attached to the stems. There is no wrong side. The pansy petals are, also, double sided.
The “stems” are worked first. The top (where the pansies are attached) is worked next. The leaves and pansies are worked separately. There are lots of leaves and pansies to make, but you can make a few leaves and then a few flowers to keep things interesting. And at the end, you will end up with something pretty to brighten up the tea party.
