My 20 year old daughter named these socks = Passion Fruit SPLASH. The name brings a smile to my face and who can’t use a bit of light heartedness during a difficult situation?
The original name for the pattern was “The Break Up”. What can be said about ending a relationship? It is not an easy decision to make or a simple act to follow through on. Your focus is destroyed as are your enjoyment levels. Knitting helps us heal. This sock pattern gives you a small project using your favorite leftover yarn from past sock projects. Play with color, pick your favorite, enjoy the process.

Take a look at your leftover sock yarn. Find three balls that each look slightly smaller than a lacrosse ball. It can fit in the palm of your hand with your fingers wrapped around most of it. Feel free to use a brand new skein so the socks are all one color. I did not want to use one of my pretty, new, tidy, all in one piece, expensive, etc … skeins. I knew I would make mistakes since my brain was not firing on all cylinders. I did not want my socks to even match. Each sock uses the same three small balls but in different order. Life gives you curveballs and we are strong enough to survive them but boy can it get messy and difficult sometimes.

The pattern is for cuff down socks and has three sizes (small, medium and large) for the adult foot.

I hope you enjoy knitting with some of your favorite leftovers!
