ENGLISH
PekePuntal is the kids’ version of the Puntal pattern – a basic top-down jumper, knit in the round. It has six sizes for children, from age 2 to age 12. After the neckline, short rows are added to raise the back and increases are worked at either side of the sleeves. Then the sleeves and body are separated. You continue working on the body and later pick up the stitches left on hold for the sleeves and knit those from the underarm to the cuff. A colourful stripe is added to the yoke. In the two smallest sizes an opening is included at the back neck to ensure it fits comfortably over your child’s head.

MATERIALS
• 4 mm (US6) circular needles for the body and sleeves (adjust if necessary to achieve gauge)
• 3.5 mm (US5) circular needles for the ribbing (or a size smaller than the main needles)
• 4 markers in different colours (A-D) for the raglan increases and a special marker for BOR.
• tapestry needle and waste yarn to put the sleeve stitches on hold
• 3 small buttons for ages 1-2 and 3-4 only (approximately 1.5 cm / 0.5 in in diameter)

SIZES
To fit ages 1-2 (3-4, 5-6, 7-8) 9-10, 11-12

How to choose your size: measure the chest circumference, add the ease recommended below (i.e. 6-7.5 cm / 2.25-3 in) and find the finished circumference at chest measurement below that is closest to that figure. Make sure your gauge matches the one given below to ensure your finished garment will be the same dimensions.

GAUGE
19 stitches and 28 rounds in 10 cm / 4 inches with the larger needles in stockinette stitch, in the round, after blocking.

YARN
Worsted or DK weight yarn in 3 colours. I used Lanasalpaca Loop (167 m / 183 yards in 100 g).

ESPAÑOL

El PekePuntal es la versión de niño del Puntal (/patterns/library/puntal) – un jersey básico de manga raglán que se teje desde el cuello hacia abajo (lo que se llama top-down en inglés). Tiene seis tallas de 1 a 12 años. Las dos tallas más pequeñas incluyen una apertura en la parte posterior del cuello para ponerlo y quitarlo con facilidad.

MATERIALES
• Agujas circulares de 4 mm y 80 cm de largo para el cuerpo y para hacer las mangas con el método magic loop. (Ajustar el número de aguja si es necesario para conseguir la misma tensión que el patrón – ver más abajo.)
• Agujas circulares de 3,5 mm (o un número más pequeño que las agujas principales) de doble punta o circulares de 40 cm para el cuello y 80 cm para el elástico del cuerpo y los puños (haciéndolos con el método magic loop).
• 4 marcadores de diferentes colores (A-D) para los aumentos raglán, más un marcador especial para el comienzo de vuelta.
• Aguja lanera y lana de desecho para poner los puntos de las mangas en espera.
• 3 botones pequeños y marcadores tipo imperdible para las tallas 1-2 y 3-4 solo (aproximadamente 1,5 cm de diámetro).

LANA
Lana de grosor worsted o DK en 3 colores. Yo usé Loop de Lanasalpaca (167 m en 100 g).

Cómo elegir tu talla: mide el contorno de pecho, añade la holgura recomendada (6-7,5 cm) y encuentra la medida de contorno de pecho de la prenda terminada más abajo que más se aproxime a esa cifra. Asegúrate de que tu tensión coincide con la que se indica para que tu jersey tenga las mismas medidas.

TENSIÓN
19 puntos y 28 vueltas en 10 cm con las agujas más grandes en punto jersey, en circular, después de bloquear.
