Keep toasty during the dark days of December with this cheery hottie cover.

When I was growing up, my Dutch family always celebrated Sinterklaas (St Nicholas) on 5 December by eating chocolate letters and spicy biscuits. We used the word Pepernoten for both the soft aniseed version and hard nutmeg version of the spicy cookies that Sintaklaas shares with children during the festival by throwing them into crowds. It’s a somewhat bizarre custom, but also delicious!

The colourwork pattern is a sugar-free, gluten-free, fat-free version of the scattered sweets. If you choose to knit from stash, it can even be guilt-free.

Choose a tweed yarn to let those colourful nepps enhance the festival feeling!
