From Simple Knits for Cherished Babies:

This wonderfully soft baby blanket, knitted in a very soft cotton blend, relies on its exquisite texture and classic design for its appeal. Knitted in stocking (stockinette) stitch, with a raised garter stitch border, it can be knitted easily and quickly by the most inexperienced knitter. To add character to the blanket, a monogrammed B for baby can be positioned in the centre of the blanket by simply reversing the stitches from knit to purl to form the letter. If you prefer you could work on the baby’s initial instead. Charts for this purpose are given at the back of the book.
