Pet Nat means “naturally sparkling” or “naturally bubbly” in French, which describes just as well the feeling you get when spring and summer finally arrive. So, the Pet Nat top is a top for those days and evenings when you want to shine a little more in the summer heat.
The top is worked bottom up with double thread on thick needles. The stitches on the back piece are bound off, before you finish the front piece. The front piece is designed to be tied tightly around the neck and is therefore extra high. The straps are worked as I-cords from held stitches at the front piece. No final sewing necessary – the top can be worn straight away on warm, nippy summer days.
