NOTES
This tote is constructed out of two modified granny squares using half double crochet (hdc) pattern that is worked at first in the round and then using short rows, where each row begins with a new thread of raffia.
Tote’s bottom is created separately, worked flat in either of the two provided versions of hdc patterns. Once both panels (front and back) of the tote are finished, they are first steamed, then pleated. The sides are then seamed, and the top part is attached to the bottom. Once the tote is completely dry, the handles are stitched at the opening of the tote. The unique construction allows for the tote to collapse and fold origami-style which makes it perfect for packing when traveling.
Four sizes are provided to create the tote size of your preference and needs, depending on style of handles/purse strap you choose.
