I grew up in East Anglia, in the east of England. The landscape is very flat and where the fens have been drained it can be quite empty, allowing the wind to blow across it. Stands of Poplar trees were planted at field edges to act as windbreaks. This lace pattern reminds me of those tall, narrow trees.

This lightweight lacy wrap is ideal for cooler summer and autumn evenings. The simple lace repeat is easy to commit to memory, making this an ideal project for those just starting to learn lace knitting. The silk and merino yarn adds a wonderful touch of luxury. Despite the lightweight yarn, the wrap knits up quickly.
