Poppius-rose was cultivated in Sweden by Carl Stenberg in mid 19th century and is named after Gabriel Poppius. The origins of the rose are unknow, it resembles wild roses which grow in the Alps.

The pattern is written for magic loop, but can easily be modified for double pointed needles. Needle A refers to instep stitches and needle B to sole stitches.

The sample sock was knitted toe up, on cuff down version the pattern is upside down due the nature of lace knitting.
