PUMPKIN SEED COCOON CARDIGAN, © Terrice C. Kennedy 2017

This is a very detailed 15-page pattern and includes some photos. Please feel free to email me with any questions: AquarianArts1@gmail.com

Designer’s Note: I call this a Pumpkin Seed Stitch because the large spaces (negative space) looks like pumpkin seeds. I took the instructions for a “row by row” style stitch and invented this “in the round” style pattern in 2015 for a baby afghan. This pattern is, therefore, quite unique.

It looks a little like the popular “Virus Shawl”, but this stitch pattern is much lacier.

CROCHETED CARDIGAN, finished size: Large, Approx. 46” H x 46” Cuff to Cuff. This sweater is meant to be worn loosely.

The size can be adjusted smaller or larger by increasing or decreasing the number of rounds completed before folding the rectangle to sew up the sides.

The size can also be made larger by increasing the number of Rounds for the border. The sleeves can be made longer by increasing the number of Rounds for the cuffs.

SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate; stitches are in U.S. terms.

GAUGE: Adjust hook size to fit gauge.
Body: With size H hook, 7” wide x 9 ½“ long after Round 5 is complete. 40” wide x 46” long after Body rectangle is complete with 1 row of color C edging.
Cuffs: With size F hook, after decrease, 2” x 2” = 9 st wide x 5 rows high.
Border: With size F hook, 2” x ¾” = 9 st wide x 2 rows high.

PATTERN NOTES:
The body of this project is worked in Rounds with Right Side (RS) facing at all times. The border and cuffs are worked in rows.

Please feel free to sell your finished items made with this pattern.
