I see this simple hooded pullover as a solution to a problem I have. I do a lot of gift knitting, frequently for the arrival of a new baby and for “big” brother or sister gifts to soften the blow of no longer being the center of attention. Using bulky yarn, I took only a few days to knock out this hoodie, which makes it a quick fix for me.

This pattern accompanies the Skill Building article on seed stitch. It features seed stitch borders at the bottom, cuffs, and hood. If you want to up your game a bit, work the entire garment in seed stitch.

Use the chest measurements to determine what size to knit. It is designed with several inches of ease. Smaller needles than recommended on the yarn label are used to create a denser fabric.
