I am not, by nature, someone who gravitates towards bulky yarns. I appreciate the speed with which they can be knit and the bold statement they make, but they’re not something I reach for on a regular basis.

Unless they have some fantastic 80s-riffic colors, like the shades of Amano’s Yana. I fell in love with the color combination first—one glance and the opening strains of Tiffany’s rendition of “I Think We’re Alone Now” started playing in my head and I just had to have them in a sweater.

I wanted something simple that would be a fast knit but also something interesting that wouldn’t be mindnumbingly boring. The columns of garter stitch paired with the color striping sequence, makes for a visually interesting garment that’s easy to execute.
