These are my favorite pair of mittens thus far created by my hands. They can be worn up to the forearm or scrunched down to the wrist. Farmers Daughter Fibers is a top notch choice for yarn. This specific yarn, Highwood Sock, shows stitch definition beautifully even with textured stitches.

Ragged Roots is a fingerless mitten design made with gorgeous variegated sock yarn.

On a recent trip to North Conway, I had the ability to knit away for four hours in the car and I did something I have never done before. I knit on the fly so to speak. I made it up as I went along. Two needles, lovely yarn then cast on and see where the journey takes you. Knitting has the innate ability to allow you to experiment, to create, to express yourself and to calm you. What you make and do can be undone only to be recreated to be made better. Can you imagine if you were able to recreate parts of your life? Life is about enjoying the simple moments: two needles and a ball of yarn. Hours of entertainment and the end result is a gift for a loved one or yourself. What would you redo if you could?

Enjoy your time creating something lovely with your two hands. May it bring you peace and joy.
