Reversible Woven Placemats
This placemat was created using a reversible technique. This design has now been incorporated into a double overlay mosaic pattern set, which includes three placemats, available here: Double Illusion Placemats
Serve up a cold glass of milk and some fresh-baked cookies on these simple reversible woven-design placemats. They were created by alternating medium blue and light brown cotton crochet thread, holding two strands together. The design is crocheted in both directions using a combination of sc and long hdc which are worked into the previous row. The long hdc are worked with one color on odd rows and the contrasting color on even rows creating the reversible effect. Instructions are included to leave a length of thread at each end for fringe, or weave in all the ends and add a border. A chart is also included for reference. Skill Level: Easy.
