This is the scarf version of my Rockrose Wrap pattern, designed to use one 100g/400m skein of 4ply weight yarn.

If you have already purchased the Rockrose wrap pattern, you can download this pattern for free! Just add the pattern to your cart (do not use the buy it now feature) and the price in your cart will be reduced to zero.

Alternatively, if you’ve not yet bought the Rockrose Wrap, just add both patterns to your cart and you’ll get two patterns for the price of one! Please note, if you are buying through LoveKnitting this promotion will not work.

Inspired by blooming flowers, this scarf features a selection of botanical inspired lace patterns including an unusual original lace border using beautiful Estonian lace stitches.

I wanted to play with transitions between different stitch patterns by modifying one pattern to blend into the next to create an interesting knit. None of the stitch patterns has a long repeat so you will quickly get into a satisfying rhythm!

The scarf begins with a provisional cast on at the centre and is then worked outwards in two identical halves, starting with a simple lace pattern reminiscent of leaves, which then transitions smoothly into a gently undulating pattern of petals and finishes with a delicate edging of blooms with a smattering of beads and a picot cast off.

All lace patterns have both charts and written instructions so you can work from whichever you prefer.

Finished size: One size, approx. 26.5cm x 151cm (10.5” x 59.5”) after blocking

Yarn: Posh Yarn Audrey Sock 60% Mulberry Silk, 40% Cashmere, 400m per 100g skein, shade ‘And Rejoice While We May’, 1 skein

Yarn note: Posh Yarn is dyed in one-off, non-repeatable colourways. Posh Yarn Audrey Sock has been discontinued. For a similar effect, I would recommend Posh Yarn Natasha Sock, which has a very similar drape and softness. Ideally, choose a yarn with some silk content (for a nice drape) which will block well.

Needles: 3.75mm (US 5) and 4.0mm (US 6) straight

Notions: Crochet hook in a similar size to needles for provisional cast on, waste yarn, 5 stitch markers (optional), 1.0mm crochet hook for adding beads, 40 beads (size 6 or larger, sample scarf uses size 5 Miyuki Triangles), tapestry needle.

Techniques used (all explained in the pattern): provisional crochet cast on, intermediate lace patterns, beading with a crochet hook.

This pattern has been test knitted and professionally tech edited.
