Inspired by my favorite flower, the Róisín Shawl, celebrates the beautiful blooms I simply cannot get over.
Róisín is an Irish name which means “little rose”. You can find the pronunciation from an Irish speaker here.

This particular shawl construction technique has been littering my sketchbooks for a couple years, but I never had the perfect design for it. When I saw this beautiful lace floral insertion I knew I had finally found it!

Minimal, elegant, and whimsical, all at once, I’m so happy with how it turned out! This shawl is worked top-down, in one piece, with the edging worked as you go. The final piece is a deep trapezoid shape.

Yarn:
It’s knitted in sport/light DK yarn,
My sample is knitted up in the soft and light Semilla Melange by BC Garn.

Needles:
It is knitted up on size US 7/4.5 mm needles.

The shawl is written in three different sizes, a kerchief, a mid sized shawl (like my sample), or an oversized shawl.

Yardages for each size:
Kerchief: 340 yds/311 m
Mid-Size: 545 yds/498 m
Large Size: 750 yds/686 m
