This hat is part of The Rosebuds & Lace Suite, which consists of matching Cowl, Hat, and Fingerless Mitts.

The hat uses a variation of the Old Shale lace pattern which forms the brim when turned up, and then has cabled rosebuds on the body.

It’s a relatively quick and easy knit that takes about 110 to 140 yards of a light worsted weight yarn, using US size 7 (4.5 mm) and 8 (5.0 mm) circular needles (or DPNs).

The hat is constructed in the round from the bottom up, and there are instruction and a pictorial guide for turning the work inside out so the lace shows when the brim is turned up.

This pattern has a chart and completely written out instructions for adult sizes Small, Medium, and Large.
