This scarf is a warm winter lace scarf, featuring a cable lace focal stitch and a Shetland Edging, which is added last, as in most Shetland Shawls. The Edging is only at the short end of the scarf, and is optional, although contained in pattern. The warmth is added by reducing the gauge and blocking much less than you would with lace. (The Shetland Edging is blocked a bit more than the body of the scarf, allowing the stitch to show a bit more than the body, without decreasing the warmth of the scarf.

NOTE: There is a size adjustment within the pattern for a light weight wide lace spring/summer scarf/stole.
This scarf pattern is charted only.

The scarf was knit using Handmaiden’s of Canada’s Eden yarn, and it is undyed. The scarf was expertly tested by Beverly Long who can be reached at: blong39@hotmail.com

SKill Level: Intermediate (assuming a good working knowledge of lace, and attaching a lace edging.)

There is also instructions for crocheted side edging, should you want to edge the vertical sides. This is the ONLY crochet in the pattern.

The pattern is for sale right here on Ravelry or in my Etsy Shop in the Eclectic Scarf Section (https://www.etsy.com/shop/WearableArtEmporium?section_id=…)
