This design is strong and masculine, rhythmic – with an echo of Native American feeling, alongside the traditional Scandinavian strand work. The cuff is long and generous for a comfortable, slouchy look. The strand work of the hand fits snuggly and is worked without a thumb gusset, meaning the right and left mitts are identical.

Rye’s Stranded Mitts are knit in the round from the cuff up in stranded stockinette stitch, with no more than 2 colors worked per round.

This pattern is includes colorwork charts.
