Sacre Coeur is a top-down lace crescent, with optional beading. The name means sacred heart.

Update 14.2.15 - I’m continually amazed by the awesomeness that is Ravelry, and by the kindness, warmth, generosity and enthusiasm that I meet every day. As a small way of saying thank you, I’ve decided to make this pattern free permanently.

Many thanks to the lovely MadlaineYarn and Elegnad of http://www.madlaine.fr/ for the French translation. :)

Vielen Dank an Sabine von http://www.schafga.be/ für diese Übersetzung.

This pattern offers several variables to play with -

Start the lace when you like - right at the start for an all-over pattern

or after a plain section of any size, in stockinetter or garter.

The main Arch lace is indefinitely repeatable - keep going until you are ready to start the Stained Glass edging.

The edging is also repeatable, so you can extend either part as far as you wish, and knit until you run out of yarn.

Adaptable to any yardage of lace to fingering weight.

Written and charted.

Pattern rows on the right side only.

Stitch-maps for this pattern have kindly been created by Volardilla and can be found here.

Named for the beautiful forms of the famous Parisian Sacré-Coeur Basilica, and for the beauty of the heart when it is full of love.
