After completing the Saltwater Taffy Cowl, I knew it needed a matching hat. The alternating pastel colors remind me of picking out flavors of saltwater taffy at the candy store. Your head will stay warm during those chilly days with a brim that’s doubly thick.

After beginning with a provisional cast on, the hat’s ribbed brim is worked until it can be folded and knit together with the cast on edge. The body of that hat is worked with alternating sections of stockinette in the contrast color and garter stitch in the main color. Decreases shape the rest of the hat, which can be topped off with a pompom.

Saltwater Taffy Hat is worked completely in the round.
