Sands of Time Cowl is a cosy little bib cowl that adds extra warmth around your neck and shoulders. It’s worked top down and back and forth, with short-row shaping across the upper back and front, then the fronts are joined and the body is finished before picking up stitches for the high neck and the neat edge ribbing.

The cowl is designed using one strand of sport-weight yarn held together with one strand of lace-weight yarn, but it can also be worked with a single strand of yarn that matches the pattern gauge (often DK to worsted, depending on your yarn). If you choose a single-strand option, simply work with one yarn throughout and use the same meterage as the sport-weight yarn listed as a starting point, reserving extra to be safe.

All cast off edges feature a Tubular Bind Off for a polished look. Instructions are given for working the cables without a cable needle and with a cable needle. Note: the cables are only charted.
