These fun, colorful socks are worked from the top down with a heel flap and gusset. Worked in two colors of sock yarn with a simple stripe, the fair isle adds tiny bit of challenge to this otherwise straightforward knit.

Size: S (M, L) or to fit US shoe size - Women’s 5-7 (8-10, 11-14) or Men’s 4-6 (7-9, 10-13)
Finished sock measurements: Foot circumference: 7 ½ (8 ½, 9 ½)” / 19 (21.5, 24) cm.
Length from toe to heel (easily adjustable): 9 (10, 10 ½)” / 23 (25.5, 26.5) cm.
Materials: Approx 365 (415, 485) yds / 242 (379, 443) m of fingering weight yarn in two colors.
Shown in Cape May Fibers - https://capemayfibercompany.com/ Sock (75% super wash merino, 25% nylon; 463 yds/ 423 m per 100g skein) 230 (260, 300) yds / 242 (379, 443) m in Sea Salt (MC) and 135 (155, 185) yds / 210 (260, 300) m in Jersey Peach (CC) in Size Small.
Gauge: 34 sts and 44 rnds = 4” / 10 cm in st st in the round.
Needles: Set of US 1 (2.25 mm) double pointed needles or size needed to obtain correct gauge (see notes).
Notions: Stitch marker

Notes: ~Fair Isle stranding pulls in more than regular st st, so you may need to switch to a larger set of double pointed needles when working the stranded sections to stay at the correct gauge. For example, sample shown was knit with US Size 1 for the St st sections and US Size 2 for the Fair Isle sections.
~Pattern is written for double pointed needles but may easily be modified for any type of needle that is preferred for working a small circumference in the round.
~When working the stripes, carry the unused yarn up the side by twisting it around the working yarn on every other rnd.
