Ah, simple sea star. No, they aren’t particularly cute and cuddly, but there’s nothing so thrilling as going for a snorkel and finding a giant, brightly colored star waiting to greet you in the sand.

This sea star requires you to be able to knit in the round on double pointed needles and be able to work simple increases and decreases. The arms are each knitted individually, stuffed, and then sewn together. It’s pretty fun to see it come together.

As for yarn, I didn’t get too specific because I just used what I had lying around. For a heavy worsted I used a size 6 needle and ended up with an 8” star. For a light worsted I used a size 3 needle and ended up with about a 6” star.
