Seed Pod Throw
This PDF crochet PATTERN gives you easy, step-by-step instructions how to crochet this beautiful Seed Pod Mosaic Crochet Throw. A stunning new design, this geometric throw is so stylish it will look fabulous anywhere in your home! Made using the inset/2-row mosaic crochet technique, where you do not fasten off the yarn at the end of each row. Instead, keep both yarns attached and simply switch colour every 2 rows.
Please note: due to the nature of this inset/2-row version of mosaic crochet, short lengths of chain are made on the reverse. See photo of close-up of the reverse side. These can either be left loose or can be covered and incorporated into other stitches to hide them. Full details are given in the pattern.
Suitable for advanced beginner level upwards, the 8-page pattern includes
- full written row-by-row instructions (UK crochet terms used; US terms are given in Abbreviations list where applicable)
- pattern notes
- stitch abbreviations
- special stitch instructions
- mosaic crochet chart and instructions
You can either use the gorgeous Scheepjes Colour Crafter DK yarn listed in the pattern, or any DK yarn you like. I used 4 x balls Yarn A (2017 Verviers) and 3 x balls Yarn B (1711 Leeuwarden), with 1 x ball (optional) Yarn C Wolvega (1099) for the edging, to achieve this size. You will also need a 5.5mm (US I/9) crochet hook.
Your finished throw will measure approximately 90 x 135cm/35.5 x 53in. The pattern gives full details how to adjust the dimensions to suit you using the starting chain multiples if you wish to adapt the size.
I absolutely loved designing and making this throw, and I hope you love making it just as much. Any questions, just give me a shout!
