The Seed Saver Kerchief is named for all those garden enthusiasts who rejoice at the first melt of winter snow, when they start sprouting seeds under lights or in greenhouses. It’s just the right accessory for tending the seedlings that will be feeding us all come summer. Knit in two colors, it is folded over so that the contrast color just peeks out from under the top layer, which features a simple knit and purl pattern down the center.

The kerchief is also an excellent introduction to linen yarn. Linen yarn behaves very differently from wool. Wooden needles are much easier to work with when it comes to linen, as you may find metal needles just too slippery. One of the many beautiful things about 100% linen is that it is machine washable - you can just throw it in the washer and the dryer!
