Serious Moonlight Night
The first time I saw this yarn, I envisioned it as a wrap or poncho that would display the beautiful color ways of the long color repeats. I’m delighted to share it with you. It’s perfect for social knitting, or to take along on a trip. Knit this uncomplicated, lightweight poncho-style wrap to wear anytime. It’s also easy to add beads to your knitting with this technique. Why not give it a try? Although beads give it extra detail and zing, they are optional.
The wrap is knit flat with my special selvage edges, then folded in half and seamed along the shoulder. It slips easily over your head and may be worn in a variety of styles. It measures 20” wide x 55” in length. Gauge is 5 sts./in.
Many long color repeat fingering weight yarns may be used for this pattern. Crystal Palace Yarns, Mini Mochi and Knitting Fever’s Painted Desert would be great choices, as well!
Have fun!
I knit this poncho using size 5 needles, but I am a loose knitter. If you are a tight knitter, you may want to use size 6 needles.
You may also increase width by adding stitches in multiples of 4 at the cast on.
800 TOHO 6/0 round seed beads.
Enjoy!
