Shana Sweater + Hat
Fall 2021 Manos del Uruguay x Stephanie Earp
Using the same marltarsia cable panel as the matching Shana Hat, this top is so much fun to knit, thanks to the modular design. The centre panels are knit from the bottom up, then the sleeves and sides are worked from the center out. The ribbed edgings are the finishing touches, and the only sections worked in the round. As each new section is added, the initial row is worked in Cabrito, creating a subtle but clear indication of how the top was constructed.

NOTES
The pullover front and back are worked back and forth in rows from the bottom up, then stitches are picked up along each side of the body and worked outwards for the sides and sleeves. The ribbed edges of the lower body and cuffs are picked up and worked downwards in the round. You may substitute your preferred needles for small circumference knitting in place of the double-pointed needles.
The accent cable on both the sweater and hat is worked with one strand each of MC and CC held together. Work to the beginning of the cable panel with the MC, add the CC and work the 12 cable stitches with both yarns, then drop the CC and continue to the end with MC. Because the MC is used across the entire row there are no holes at the color changes, and therefore it is not necessary to twist the yarns at the edges of the cable.
