Shangri-La
The pattern also available in German!
Shangri-La jetzt auch auf Deutsch!
Additional info: On the Set up row I have put the total number of stitches 337 (in this count every droplet is counted as 1 stitch). If the stitches for each droplet are included the number is 505.
Shangri-La a paradise somewhere in the Himalaya Mountains, where the time stands still, land of eternal youth…
I do get transported back in time every time I pick up my needles and start new project ..
And this shawl evoked the same feeling.
It is knitted in a beautiful Tussah Silk dyed by two talented girls from Dye for Yarn.
Shangri-La is knitted top-down and its circular shape is achieved by an easy short-row technique.
The lace pattern of the border resembles droplets of water which are set against simple mesh background.
The addition of beads makes it sparkle beautifully in the sun and makes it even more special.
The size is quite generous 72.5”/24” (can be made smaller or bigger by knitting less or more bands of droplet lace).
Beads are optional.
Shangi-La can also be knitted in a fingering weight yarn (for a medium size 55”/21” yarn requirement is 600m/150g) and it will look very pretty in a variegated yarn.
The pattern has written and charted instructions.
It has been written for knitters of intermediate skills level.
Shangri-La will make fabulous addition to any wardrobe and will add a touch of glamour to any outfit!!
