Shearwater
Designed in collaboration with Madeline Tosh and Shibui Knits.
More information and yarn can be found here.
“Inspired by the movements of water. The swell of the tide, the ripple over a sandy beach, a birds wing skimming the surface of the sea. When Madeline Tosh and Shibui approached me there was one thing that came to mind and that’s the watery likeness of Tosh Merino Light and the frothy foamy qualities of Silk Cloud. This light scarf is perfect for the spring and autumn, when cool evenings require just a little bit extra and a walk along the seafront has just a hint of coolness in the breeze.”
Notes
This scarf is knitted from point to point on the bias, creating diagonal rows of stitches. An all over cable pattern is knit in the Main Colour (MC). Intarsia panels are knit with small quantities of the Contrast Colour (CC). To avoid becoming tangled where the CC is worked in two places on the same row, wind your CC onto a spool of approximately 5g. If you don’t have spools available you can make a spool by cutting the ball band. The contrast colour will be known as CC1 and CC2 on these rows, but in fact is the same colour worked from two separate spools.
