Skipping Rocks
One of my favorite childhood memories is our family camping trips. I remember the smells of the forest, the campfire and bacon frying up for breakfast. We were allowed to run around within a safe distance of the campsite, collecting rocks and skipping over to the creek to see if we could make the rocks jump across the body of water. This was the inspiration for Skipping Rocks. I was never very good at it, but it was fun to see those rocks skip over the water, forming ringlets of waves as they touched down. Skipping Rocks is an easy to memorize and fun, two-colored, slipped stitch pattern where only one color is worked per row at a time to create an interesting repetitive design resembling rocks jumping across a creek. This top down sock features a ribbed cuff, slipped stitch heel flap and toe worked in the main color. Designed to be stash busting, go dig for those favorite left over skeins from previous projects and let Skipping Rocks jump on those needles!

Approx. 225 (275, 325) yds/206 (251, 297) m (MC) and 135 (135, 140) yds/123 (123, 128) m (CC) of fingering weight yarn
I used Rohrspatz & Wollmeise Pure (100% superwash wool; 383 yds/100g); color: 82 PB (MC) 1 skein. Madelinetosh Twist Light (72% merino wool, 25% nylon; 420 yds/100g); color: Found Pottery (CC) 1 skein.
US 1 2.25mm DPNs or two 24” circular needles for two circulars technique, or one 32” or longer circular needle for Magic Loop technique, or size to obtain gauge
