Skittles Socks
My daughter requested ‘rainbow’ socks, so this is what she got! I added the cute little ‘mock’ bobble detailing because plain ol’ stripes would have bored me to tears. I call these ‘mock’ bobbles because they are small and not in the least invasive. Meaning: You can wear these socks very comfortably in shoes. Believe me, I tested these socks out on a very vocal 5 year old who would have screamed bloody murder if the stitchwork took away from her comfort level. Socks can be made with your favorite solid, variegated or self striping yarn and having a contrasting color for your toe/heel/cuff is very easy to do.
These socks are made toe up with an afterthought heel. Directions are included for both ankle length and mid-calf length socks. These are fairly easy and will make a great ‘first time’ sock pattern for anyone and sized from toddler to adult women’s large, you can make them for the whole family!
