Small Felted Bowl
It can hold a plethora of small things.
Using two-color Brioche and felting can make a
unique piece of art for your home. They can be addictive to make.
Size before felting: Approx 11″ (28 cm)
diameter at the widest point.
Size after felting: Approx 6 ½″ (16.5 cm)
diameter at the widest point and 3″ (7.5 cm)
height. Size will vary with yarn choice and
degree of felting.
Yarn: Paton’s Classic Wool Worsted 100% wool
2 contrasting colors. Sample used Claret and
Winter White. Yarn is always your choice.
Gauge: 7 stitches and 24 rounds (12 countable
rounds) to 4” (10 cm) in Brioche before felting. If
you use a different yarn a loose tension is more
important than gauge.
Needles: Size US 11 (8 mm) 36” (91.5 cm)
Circular for magic loop, 2 circulars, DPNS or
Flexiflips or size needed for gauge.
Notions: Tape measure, darning needle.
Optionally 5 markers, some glass marbles or
decorative rocks and a table knife.
Difficulty: Intermediate: 2 color Brioche,
working in the round, I-Cord Bind-Off and felting.
