Snowdrop Mittens are the cozy companion to our Snowdrop Hat. Knit with just one skein of DK yarn, they feature bobbles and cables that move across the fabric and keep the knitting engaging with a touch of whimsy.
The classic mitten shape makes them easy to wear every day, and they’re just as suited to gifting as they are to keeping. Warm, textured, and a little playful, they quickly become a pair you reach for often.
Design Details
Snowdrop Mittens pair a stretchy ribbed cuff with a textured hand, combining practical warmth with decorative detail. The reverse stockinette background lets the bobbles and cables stand out and gives the fabric a soft, cushioned feel.
Both charted and written instructions are included so you can work from whichever format you prefer.

Construction Overview
Snowdrop Mittens are worked in the round from cuff to fingertips.
You begin with a ribbed cuff for a snug fit. The hand is knit in reverse stockinette with cables and bobbles, while thumb stitches are placed on waste yarn and completed after the hand is finished. The thumb is then picked up and knit in the round.
Yarn Notes
We knit our sample in West Wool Tandem DK, a soft merino with enough structure to hold the cables and bobbles clearly while staying comfortable against the skin.
Fiber: 100% South American Merino
Yardage: 254 yds / 100 g
Any DK yarn with good stitch definition will work well for this pattern.
