Soaring Dragons is a beaded lace pattern. There is a circle version with 5 identical dragons, and a 3 panel “semicircle” version with 3 varied dragons. They burst out from the center, dragons on the wing and roaring fire. Although beads are optional, there are bead counts for the various parts of the pattern to help you use multiple colors of beads, different ones for the flame, the wings, the body, the eyes, and the center swirl.

Gradiant transition tables are included for The Unique Sheep yarns. Yardage per skein and skein count are listed in these tables. Be sure you check these tables for your yarn type. A fingering weight 3 panel in gradiant yarns at 200 yards per skein can use up to 8 skeins.

Materials:
Circle: Lace weight 1800 yards, fingering weight 2095 yards
Three Panel: Lace weight 1285 yards, fingering weight 1495 yards

Lace weight needles: US 3, use circular for the circle version.
Fingering weight needles: US 5, use circular for the circle version.

Size:
Circle: Lace weight, 62” / 157cm diameter.
Fingering weight, 72” / 184cm diameter.
Three Panel: Lace weight, 31” / 79cm depth.
Fingering weight, 36” / 92cm depth.

There are both charts and written instructions. Because the pattern is quite complex, the written instructions have very long lines. Some knitters have found it difficult to keep their place in these lines, and have found the charts much easier to use.
