Soft Serve Cabled Beanie
Squishy, twisting cables, swirl around this tweed beanie,
reminiscent of soft-serve ice cream with sprinkles! Easy
enough to be a great introduction to cables, this cute hat has
style to spare. The generous ribbing folds up to create an
extra layer of warmth, and the cables rise straight up to the
top of the hat, thanks to the smooth, perfectly vertical ESC
stitches between post stitches.
The ribbing for this beanie is worked sideways in turned rows
and slip-stitched to form a tube. The body of hat is worked in
continuous rounds, without joins, from the ribbing to the top
of hat in the Soft Serve Cable stitch pattern. You may find it
helpful to use a locking stitch marker to note the beginning
of the round. Turning chains in the ribbing does not count as
a stitch.
Choosing hat size: Hat fits best with 0-2” of negative ease at
ribbed brim (this means ribbing should be 0 -2” smaller than
head measurement). Ribbing circumference is used
throughout pattern to distinguish between sizes.
