INSPIRATION
We get a lot of our inspiration from nature and the name Sori has a connection to ferns (ormbunkar in Swedish). Next to Se- laginella (have a look at our pattern Selaginella Cardigan), ferns are Stina’s favourite plants. Ferns disperse by spores and on
the underside of many fern leaves, you can find yellow-brown clusters of “spore containers”. The term for several such clusters is sori.
We believe the structure pattern of our Sori Cardigan and Sori Vest resemble the form and arrangement of the sori of a fern called Hart’s tongue fern (with the scientific name Asplenium scolopendrium or hjorttunga in Swedish). The sori of this fern are oblong (see photo on next page). The Hart’s tongue fern is very rare here in Sweden and is thus protected.

CONSTRUCTION
Sori Cardigan is knitted from the bottom up with a structure pattern at the fronts. The back and the sleeves are in stocki- nette stitch. You knit the body in one piece back and forth until you reach the underarm, where you divide the work in back and fronts. After joining the shoulders, stitches are picked up around the armholes and you form the sleeve caps with short rows. The cardigan has small pockets at the front and a hem that is higher at center back to shape the waist.
The pattern is written for sizes 83, 88.5, 94, 99.5, 105.5, 111, 116.5, 122 , 127.5, 133, 137, 144.5, 150 and 155.5 cm (finished chest measurement).
