I believe that you can’t knit too many shawls, and if you feel the way I do, this one is headed for your queue.

This triangular shawl is worked from the base up, beginning with a narrow garter stitch border and using short rows for shaping. The pattern shifts from a large honeycomb stitch to a small honeycomb stitch, ending in a garter stitch tip.

Fingering weight yarn, approx. 250 yards of Color A and approx. 350 yards of Color B.
The sample shown is worked in Linen Quill by Purl Soho, Color 1020 Oatmeal Grey (Color A) and Heritage Wave by Cascade Yarns, Color 517 Rainbow (Color B).

NEEDLES
US size 4 (3.5 mm) 32” needle (suggested) or size needed to obtain gauge.
The shawl is worked flat; the long needle is to accommodate the large number of stitches.

GAUGE
In honeycomb stitch, 21.5 sts and 41 rows = 4” after blocking.
Exact gauge is not crucial. Use a needle size that gives you a fabric that you like, but be aware that a change in gauge can affect the amount of yarn used and the size of the finished shawl.
