I’ve revisited the Southwestern Sunset Accessories, using a new yarn and eliminating what I thought could be confusing pieces. There’s now one version of each of the two hats, the cowl and fingerless mitts.
A solid color, or semi-solid color, paired with a painted colorway is a great starting point for this set. One version of the hat features a fold-up brim that’s buttoned at the side, though you can always omit the buttons and sew the ends of the band together, but why not show off the same buttons that you used for the cowl?
The second version of the hat is knit without a folded brim. And the fingerless mitts feature the mosaic pattern at the cuff and simple garter stitch stripes at the top edge.
Finished Measurements:
Hats: 20 (21, 22, 23 1/4)“ / 51 (53.5, 56, 59) cm circumference and 7 (7 1/2, 8, 8 1/2)” / 18 (19, 20.5, 21.5) cm long (Hat 1 with the brim folded)
