Spark mittens are worked in the round from bottom to top using 5 double pointed needles, followed by knitting the thumb using 4 double pointed needles.

Begin with double pointed needles US 1.5 (2.5 mm) and knit the cuff pattern and continue knitting the body of the mittens pattern with the same needle size for S/M but change to double pointed needles US 2 (2.75 mm) for size M/L.
