Staircase Bags
by Suesan Roth
This is a large tote created using mitered squares making it very sturdy and also resistant to stretching which tends to happen with knitted bags. This is quick and fun to make because you build the squares as you go. You get the “Hooray” moment as you finish each square and it seems to make the project go that much faster. The first original bag I made of this was quickly taken from me by my kids sweet babysitter who had to have this bag :)
Inspired by the many, many steps of St. Francis Cabrini Shrine in Colorado where my husband proposed to me. Even though it was a lot of steps when you got to the top the view was breathtaking worth every single step :)
