Much like the name suggests, a starburst is the rapid formation of stars in astronomical terms. Today we can see dazzling photos of starbursts in deep space and marvel at the beauty of such astonishing ordered chaos.

The Starburst Sweater by Julee MacKessy embraces the idea of order out of chaos, with a beautiful pattern of entwining and twirling twisted stitches radiating out from the neckline in this textured, round yoke pullover. A top-down, seamless construction means that you start with the twisted-stitch pattern before relaxing into the mindless knitting of the stockinette-stitch body and sleeves.
