Stillness Socks
What makes this sock pattern different from other ones? Where it came from - I needed a pattern to take my mind of my problems and create something useful but with easy to remember instructions. My hope is that you will be able to take a break from the challenges of day to day life and do something that creates a feeling of peace of stillness.
This is a straight forward pattern using slightly heavier yarn than usual for socks (light sport weight). This is the go to sock pattern when you need to be still. You know what I mean - when you are in that tense, stressed, busy, crazy part of your life. You need a pattern to just sit down with and follow someone else’s directions. Something that forces you to slow down, concentrate a little bit, stay still and let yourself decompress.
The ribbing makes these socks very elastic - hence the one size to fit American, adult shoe size 6-9. The pictures show me wearing the socks and I wear a size 8 shoe. The socks fit my mom’s size 7 foot as well. If I made the foot longer, they would fit my 17 year old daughter’s size 9.5 foot.
This is the first pattern i have published in 6 months. It feels god to be a part of the knitting world again. I am reading a book at the moment and it is teaching me to have the “willingness” to try.
I hope each one of you has that same sense of willingness.
cheers
